Three hundred acres of brush burned Wednesday along Proctor Valley Road east of Rancho Janal Drive, the California Department of Forestry reported.
As many as 365 firefighters from various local, state and federal jurisdictions were battling the blaze. Containment was expected by midnight, said a CDF spokeswoman, who added that the fire did not threaten any homes.
