Irvine Steals a Victory in Baseball Tournament

Irvine High School stole 10 bases while defeating Woodbridge, 10-5, in the Irvine Baseball Assn. tournament Thursday at UC Irvine.
Mike Booker went three for five with three runs batted in and four stolen bases for Irvine.
Winning pitcher Mike Seal struck out five in five innings and added two hits and an RBI. Scott Brandino was two for five with two RBIs.
In another game Thursday, Mater Dei scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat Servite, 8-6.
Lionel Hasting led off the inning with a double and Jim Betzsold and Cale Carter followed with run-scoring singles.
