Hearing on Sheep Rescheduled

A court appearance by developer Art Corona, who is charged with maintaining sheep in violation of city law, has been rescheduled for Aug. 8 in San Pedro Municipal Court.
The case had been set for this past Monday, but was postponed because Corona was ill and could not appear in court.
Corona has been cited by the city Department of Animal Regulation for failing to remove sheep from a lot on Pacific Avenue near 26th Street, adjacent to his 107-unit Corona Del Mar apartment complex.
Authorities say the sheep are not kept a required 75 feet from neighborhood dwellings, while Corona says the city is harassing him and will seek a jury trial.
