The Coastal Commission has unanimously approved the building of a 9,000-square-foot child-care center for Hoag Hospital employees.
“The Coastal Commission was very happy to see that we were doing this,” said F.W. (Dubby) Evans, the hospital’s vice president of Facilities Design and Construction.
The child-care center has been in the planning stages for more than four years. It will be built west of the cancer center, under construction now.
The child-care center will be built so that it can be dismantled and moved if needed to comply with the city’s master plan, Evans said.
The center will charge a fee.
