WORLD IN BRIEF : LEBANON : 3 Guerrillas Die in Battles With Israelis

Israeli troops killed two Arab guerrillas after a firefight in southern Lebanon left an Israeli army colonel dead, the army said. The radical Abu Nidal Palestinian group claimed responsibility for the attack in which Col. Yitzhak Rahimov and an Arab guerrilla died. Two more guerrillas were killed in an overnight sweep.
