Man and Dog

It was with great interest that I read Psyche Pascual’s “Dog vs. Postman” (Jan. 8).
A former girlfriend of mine lived in Pacoima, and every night I would be accosted by loose dogs as I walked the 6 1/2 blocks from her house to the bus stop to catch the last bus to Burbank.
Loose dogs--one particularly vile pit bull often comes to mind--would often bark at and chase after me until I reached the safety of the bus stop on busy San Fernando Boulevard.
Fortunately, no harm ever came to either the dogs or myself during this psychological warfare save, perhaps, an accelerated heart rate on my part. Should I ever become nostalgic for these four-legged warriors, I shall apply for a job with the Postal Service.
