SOUTHERN SECTION BOYS ROUNDUP : Ribet Christian, Faith Baptist Are Victorious

La Canada Ribet Christian Academy won its first boys Small Schools Division basketball title Friday night in an unorthodox fashion.
The Fighting Frogs had to put up a fight.
Jamel Duncan scored seven of his 19 points during an 11-2 third-quarter run in pushing Ribet to a 68-60 victory over San Juan Capistrano’s St. Margaret’s, 68-60, before 800 at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.
It was the 20th consecutive victory for the Fighting Frogs (25-2), who outscored their opponents by an average of 47 points in their first four playoff games.
St. Margaret’s is 21-4.
