Chambers Joins 60-Point Club in Suns’ Win Over SuperSonics

Tom Chambers, about the only player on the Phoenix Suns to avoid injury this season, put on a big show Saturday at Phoenix.
The sharpshooting forward became the 14th player in NBA history to score 60 points in a game when he led the Suns to a 121-95 victory over his former team, the Seattle SuperSonics.
Chambers, who scored 35 points in the first half to help the Suns build a 58-44 lead, was 22 for 32 from the field and 16 for 18 from the line.
“I got hot and it was a lot of fun,” Chambers said. “I felt like I could make pretty much anything. Once it gets like that, it’s a simple game.”
Chambers set personal highs in points and field goals. He reached 60 with a 17-foot jump shot with 3:08 to play, then was removed to a standing ovation.
