3 Area Teams to Play in Baseball Regional

Moorpark, Canyons and Mission will play in the Southern California regional of the state junior college baseball tournament Friday at 2 p.m.
Fourth-seeded Moorpark (22-12), the Western State Conference champion, will be at home against 14th-seeded Long Beach (16-21). Mission (24-11), runner-up in the Southern California Athletic Conference, will play on the road against fifth-seeded San Bernardino Valley (29-13). Seventh-seeded Canyons (24-12), second in the WSC, will be at home against ninth-seeded Fullerton (24-13).
The first round is played under a best-of-three format. The teams will play again Saturday at 11 a.m. A third game will be played Saturday afternoon, if necessary.
