In front of a crowd of 131,500 at the northern Dutch Drenthe Circuit in Assen, Netherlands, motorcyclist Kevin Schwantz of Paige, Tex., narrowly defeated Wayne Rainey of Downey to win the 82.6-mile, 500cc race at the 60th Dutch Grand Prix.
