Hamilton Beach Recalls Coffee Makers: Hamilton Beach Inc. is recalling 42,500 drip coffee makers because of a potential fire hazard. The company said it is recalling the under-the-cabinet coffee makers because “a defect in the analog clock may cause the appliance to catch fire during use,” the Consumer Product Safety Commission said. The North Carolina-based company has received 25 reports of the coffee makers catching fire. The recall is limited to models 816-2 and 816-3 manufactured between November, 1987, and November, 1988, and sold nationwide. Consumers may contact Hamilton Beach at (800) 334-2785.
