Camera Platforms International Inc., a Valencia company that makes movie production equipment, reported net income of $29,136 for the second quarter ended June 30, compared with a loss of $733,618 a year earlier. Revenue increased nearly fivefold--to $2.05 million from $416,397.
The company said it achieved its first profitable quarter because of sales of its new line of electronic lighting ballasts--devices that control the flow of electricity to high-intensity lights--to several movie studios.
For the six months that ended in June, Camera Platforms lost $583,999 on $2.58 million in revenue, compared with a $1.49-million loss and $776,120 in revenues for the first half of 1989.
