Carter Sentenced: Donald Carter, the former head of a Wall Street company that organizes stockholder elections, was sentenced to a prison term of up to four years for grand larceny and state income tax evasion. He was also fined $50,000 and ordered to pay $1 million in restitution to clients of his former firm. He will be eligible for parole after serving 16 months. Carter, who headed Carter Organization Inc., pleaded guilty in March to grand larceny charges for stealing $1 million from clients.
