Cetus Patents Reaffirmed: The Patent Office said it will certify the validity of two Cetus patents that are at the heart of a dispute between the Emeryville, Calif.-based firm and Du Pont Co. Du Pont had sued, asking the court to declare invalid Cetus’ patents on a polymerase chain reaction process and had requested the reexamination. Cetus said the action strengthens its position.
