STATE : Crews Gain on San Diego Fire

SAN DIEGO — Firefighters said a wildfire that damaged five million-dollar homes and forced the evacuation of about 175 residents as it raced across rugged terrain was 60% contained by mid-morning today.
Aided by parched undergrowth and stiff coastal winds, the blaze--apparently started by target shooters--had charred more than 3,000 acres, California Department of Forestry officials said.
Most of the residents who were evacuated when the fire began Monday were allowed back this morning, officials said.
