Nationalistic Dreams of Unity in Middle East

To listen to President Bush and other voices of U.S. responsibility, to read the major newspapers, one would never imagine that there is any connection between the aggression by Iraq and the years of Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Yet if Bush really believes that a defeat, violent or otherwise, of Hussein and the Iraqi military will lead to a new world order free of threats to the U.S.--leaving the Israel-Palestinian crisis in its same unresolved state--he is, I fear, quite nutty.
