OJAI : Builder to Address Water, Traffic Fears
- Share via
Water worries are plaguing a 21-unit condominium project that the city of Ojai has planned to meet its goals for affordable housing.
Although Southern California Water Co. promised in 1986 to provide water service to the project site, the developers have agreed to do a full environmental study to find out how the project’s water use and traffic will affect the Ojai Valley.
Cabrillo Economic Development Corp. plans to build 12 three-bedroom and nine two-bedroom condominiums for low- and moderate-income families at 508 N. Montgomery St., north of downtown Ojai. The city has set aside $300,000 in redevelopment funds for the project. It would also be financed by a state housing program, state and federal tax credits and a private loan.
