Royal 35, Santa Ynez 0--Senior defensive back Tony Liming returned interceptions for touchdowns of 50 and 70 yards to lead Royal at Santa Ynez. Liming’s first interception return came late in the second quarter and gave Royal a 7-0 lead.
Defensive back Tim Ross recovered a fumble to give Royal the ball on the Santa Ynez 16-yard line midway through the third quarter, setting up a 21-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Fien to wide receiver Jeff Creed.
Fien finished with four completions in 14 attempts for 74 yards and two touchdowns. He hit tight end Carlos Gonzales in the fourth quarter with a 15-yard score.
Royal running back Michael Streeter rushed for 76 yards in 12 carries and had a 22-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter.
With 8:48 left in the game, Liming intercepted an errant Santa Ynez pass and returned the ball 70 yards for Royal’s last score.
