Sentencing Delayed for Rapists

A Long Beach Superior Court judge on Thursday postponed sentencing for two former Marymount College basketball players convicted of raping another student at the small Rancho Palos Verdes campus.
Bryon Flournoy, 23, and Warren Cox, 20, were ordered to return to court Oct. 18 after Judge Michael G. Nott discovered that a probation officer had not yet filed a sentencing recommendation for the pair.
Nott denied Deputy Dist. Atty. Kenneth Lamb’s request that Flournoy and Cox be ordered to wait in county jail until they are sentenced.
The men remain free on $50,000 bail each.
Jurors convicted the men last month of raping a 23-year-old woman while she was visiting their San Pedro apartment in February.
