Relief pitcher Jay Howell of the Dodgers had arthroscopic surgery to trim cartilage in his left knee at Centinela Hospital Medical Center.
Howell had torn cartilage removed from the knee in April and rejoined the team in May, finishing with a 5-5 record and 16 saves.
