The Texas Rangers announced they have reached an agreement to build a new ballpark near Arlington Stadium, ending speculation that the team would move to downtown Dallas.
The team and city agreed on a $165-million project that will keep the club in Arlington for at least the next 40 years. The team unveiled the model for a new open-air ballpark that could be ready by opening day in 1994.
