PacTel Buys Out British Cable Partner: Pacific Telesis said a subsidiary would buy out its partner in seven English cable television franchises for an undisclosed sum. PacTel Cable said its British unit had reached an agreement to buy the equity interest of Masada U.K. Cable Partners LP in cable franchises covering 874,000 homes in the cities of Manchester, Petersborough, Norwich, Derby, Broadland, Fenland and South Yorkshire.
