A 65-year-old Tierrasanta woman who died of smoke inhalation during a fire at her home has been identified.
Lois Brock died at the scene in the 10000 block of Valldemosa Lane after a cigarette thrown into a bathroom wastebasket ignited.
Authorities said Brock tried to extinguish the small fire about 2 p.m. Saturday by dousing the burning trash can inside a fiberglass shower. The smoldering contents reignited and set fire to the shower, bathroom and adjacent bedroom.
