A mistrial was declared in the drunk driving case of former “Taxi” co-star Jeff Conaway, who had faced felony charges stemming from an accident that injured a bicyclist.
Conaway, 40, of Hollywood Hills, was ordered Thursday by Superior Court Judge Sara Radin to return to court in Santa Monica Dec. 3 for a pretrial conference. The jury deadlocked 8 to 4 in favor of acquittal.
Prosecutors alleged that Conaway was driving drunk Feb. 23 when his Porsche slammed into the back of Farid Farhan’s bicycle. Farhan broke his leg and required 15 stitches on his head.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Lydia Delgadillo said two tests showed the actor’s blood-alcohol level to be 0.15% and 0.16%. The legal limit is 0.08%. Defense attorney Anthony Brooklier contended that Farhan was struck by another vehicle.
