Calgene Inc.: Losses at the Davis, Calif., agricultural biotechnology company deepened by 24% to $3.6 million in the first quarter ended Sept. 30. Revenue fell 28% to $4.9 million. The company said the revenue drop reflects completion of research phases of certain projects that are funded through cooperative ventures.
