Police were searching for three teen-agers after a 13-year-old girl told them she was attacked in an alley on Wednesday.
The girl, whose name police withheld, said three boys accosted her at knifepoint and told her they were going to rape her, but were scared off by a passing driver, police spokeswoman Cindy Knapp said.
Knapp said that the girl was walking home along the 1100 block of South Euclid Avenue when the boys, all about 16 years old, accosted her. When a car pulled into the alley, the boys fled in a late-model, lowered, metallic gray pickup truck, possibly a Toyota.
All three suspects were described as Latino, and spoke to one another in Spanish, Knapp said.
One of the suspects was described as about 5-foot-9, 150 pounds with black hair, of medium build, wearing a mustache, black pants and white tank top.
The second suspect was described as about 5-foot-7, 125 pounds, with long, thin wavy hair. He had thin facial hair and acne. He wore a gold bracelet on his right arm, Knapp said.
The third suspect was described as 5-foot-7, 165 pounds, chubby, with light brown hair combed straight back. He had hazel eyes and a 1 1/2-inch scar between the thumb and forefinger of his right hand, Knapp said. He also had acne.
He was wearing a dark blue sweat shirt with dark pants.
Anyone with information on the three suspects are requested to call the La Habra Police Department at (213) 905-9750.
