A 16-year-old Fillmore girl died Monday after being ejected from a car that crashed on Grand Avenue northwest of the city, authorities said.
Lori Harthorne was pronounced dead at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital about an hour after the 3:40 p.m. crash, Ventura County Deputy Coroner Jim Wingate said.
The driver of the 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, another 16-year-old Fillmore girl, apparently lost control of the car in the 1900 block of Grand Avenue about half a mile south of Cliff Avenue, authorities said. Wingate said the car flipped as it left the road and landed in a roadside ditch. Lori was ejected during the rollover.
The driver and a second passenger, 16-year-old John Olsen of Santa Maria, were taken to the same hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released Monday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
No charges have been filed, authorities said.
