U.S. Readiness in Persian Gulf

Cheney tells us that if it comes to military action, Syria won’t fight (Dec. 24). This is our “ally” that controls Lebanon where American hostages are still victims, where kidnap victim Col. Higgins was murdered, that harbors the men who planned the murder of 243 U.S. Marines and planned the plane explosion over Scotland. Won’t fight? I pray our commanders are wise enough not to let Syrian army forces in the desert get behind our troops.
