Looming War in Mideast

It is distressing that the media keep talking about war on Jan. 15. We may talk ourselvesinto a war we do not need and must not have. Instead, I hope that President Bush will usethe 15th deadline to launch a concentrated effort to screw down the lid on countries violating the U.N. embargo so it can work. This will save us face and tens of thousands of lives.
If the oil fields of the Middle East are set afire, our entire ecosystem will collapse under an atmospheric haze. We must remember what happened to the dinosaurs. God save us all. ROBERT BENTLEY Glendale
