NEWPORT BEACH : Newport Pier to Get Passenger Tram
- Share via
For 50 cents, people will soon be able to hop aboard a small passenger tram at the base of the Newport Pier and travel 1,100 feet to the end.
The City Council approved the new service this week, and it is expected to begin in about a week under the direction of John Giraudy.
Giraudy will operate the six-passenger tram on behalf of Fisherman’s Restaurant, which is at the end of the pier. The tram is equipped with a rack for wheelchairs.
