A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother--by throwing the family’s Chihuahua at her. The boy, whose name was not released, was held at the Ventura County Jail. The mother’s identity also was withheld, police said. The youth was accused of picking up the family pet and throwing it at his mother during a fight at the family’s home in unincorporated Piru, 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles, said Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Markley. “Nobody was hurt, not even the dog,” Markley said. “I have never seen a Chihuahua assault in my 26 years of law enforcement.” The youth was arrested for investigation of battery, cruelty to animals and violating probation, Markley said.
