Blake Edwards Sues MGM-Pathe: The film director and producer maintained in the suit that MGM-Pathe Communications Co. illegally blocked him from making a sequel to the seven “Pink Panther” films. Edwards contended that MGM breached an agreement by refusing to finance a new film and refusing to let him seek financing elsewhere. The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, demands $25 million in damages. A studio spokesman declined to comment.
