1 Killed, 1 Hurt After Car Runs Into Building

One man was killed and his passenger was injured Thursday when their car plowed into a building in Pacoima, Los Angeles police said.
Officer Jack Hosford said the two men were traveling north on San Fernando Road near Filmore Street about 1:25 a.m., when their car jumped the curb and smashed into a wall. The driver, a 22-year-old man whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was thrown from the car. He died of undetermined injuries before paramedics arrived.
His passenger, Arturo Milanez, 26, of San Fernando was taken to County-USC Medical Center. His condition was not available.
Hosford said the cause of the crash was under investigation.
