Crawford Names Coach

Jeff Olivero will be Crawford High’s third football coach in as many years, it was announced Monday.
Athletic director Roger Engle said Olivero will replace Chuck Faucette, a former Charger linebacker who was a first-year “walk-on” coach at Crawford last year.
“Chuck did a good job with football and with the kids,” Engle said. “But we had an opportunity to hire a full-time coach when a faculty member retired. We would like all our coaches to be full-time teachers.”
Olivero worked as Crawford’s defensive coordinator for seven years while teaching at a nearby junior high until last fall, when he taught at Patrick Henry and became that school’s defensive coordinator.
Faucette compiled a 3-7 record.
