EEOC Files Suit Against Japanese-Owned Firm: The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a discrimination suit against a Japanese-owned employment agency, the latest action charging that the firm illegally coded job applications by race, age, sex and nationality. The suit, filed against Interplace/Transworld Recruit Co. of Los Angeles, comes on the heels of previous actions, including a case in 1990 in which a federal judge ordered several Interplace offices temporarily closed.
