GAF Corp.: The chemical company reported a $3.8-million loss for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared to a $20.2-million loss for the year-ago period. Sales of $211.1 million were less than a 1% percent decline over last year’s to $213 million. For the year the Wayne, N.J.-based firm reported a $10.4-million loss, compared to a loss of $21.4 million for 1989. Sales for 1990 were $481.4 million, an 11% increase over 1989’s $440.6 million.
