Melville P. Windle will retire as president and chief operating officer of 20th Century Industries, a Woodland Hills-based provider of property and casualty insurance. Windle, who turns 65 in April, has held the post since July, 1989. Previously, he was the company’s general counsel.
A successor is expected to be named soon, said Louis W. Foster, chairman and chief executive.
“The last several years were a very turbulent time in the industry,” Foster said. “Mel’s legal background and broad experience were well-suited to the challenges we faced.”
