CLUB DEAD HEAD: Bootleg fever continues. The Grateful Dead is releasing “One From the Vaults,” a two-CD set of live recordings from a 1975 invitation-only concert the band performed to preview material from its “Blues for Allah” album. The material, which has been widely bootlegged over the years, is due April 16 on the band’s independently distributed label. In keeping with the group’s environmental concerns, the CD package will be sold without a longbox, using the new Digitrak format instead. . . . The Waterboys have a hits collection coming in early May, which will feature “The Whole of the Moon” (with Karl Wallinger on keyboards), “Fisherman’s Blues” and “A Girl Called Johnny.” . . . Linda Ronstadt is co-producing a new Aaron Neville album that will have guest appearances by Dr. John, Ry Cooder and Ronstadt herself, who’s slated to sing at least one duet with Neville. . . . And John Wesley Harding is doing a benefit concert Friday at Club Lingerie with his new band, the Deceivers. The show will help defray medical costs for an ailing ex-Warner Bros. Records staffer.
