Year-Round School Schedule

Justice Street Elementary School is one the Board of Education chose to have built of metal. Also, it is the last school built in the Valley without air conditioning. In my classroom, in September, the temperature has reached 113 degrees.
Due to the above, I would think board members would realize they have no right to say this school should be open in August, when it will be even hotter. They say air conditioning would cost $4,000 for each room to be wired and provided.
Child abuse is one of the biggest fears of each of us in the L.A. city schools, I thought. So how can the board participate in such?
