Irvine Lake Offers Alternative to Eastern Sierra Trout Opener

Irvine Lake will mark the beginning of the Eastern Sierra trout fishing season with one of its own, the Sierra Grand Opener, which begins Thursday.
The Orange County reservoir is known for its its healthy population of large rainbow trout, which is being supplemented by more than 10,000 fish weighing from one to 15 pounds. A total of 5,200 trout were stocked Tuesday and a similar plant is scheduled for Friday.
