A motorcyclist was killed when he slammed into a car on a Glendale street, police said Thursday.
Barkley J. Barber, 29, of Glendale died of head and chest injuries Wednesday about an hour after the 6:55 p.m. accident in the 600 block of West California Avenue, Glendale Police Sgt. Pete Michael said.
Michael said Barber was riding west when a car driven by Hyun Taik Kim, 53, of Glendale began to turn left into a driveway on the north side of the street. Barber apparently tried to pass Kim’s car, but hit the front left fender and was thrown from his motorcycle, Michael said.
Barber was taken to Glendale Adventist Hospital, where he died about 7:55 p.m.
Michael said Barber was wearing a helmet.
