Arreola 4th in All-Comers 800

Darcy Arreola of Cal State Northridge ran 2 minutes 4.4 seconds to finish fourth in the open 800 meters at an all-comers track and field meet Friday night at Birmingham High. She was the first woman to finish.
Arreola, who will run in the 1,500 at the World University Games in Sheffield, England, July 20-25, ran a personal best of 2:04.0 at Birmingham on Wednesday.
Local favorite Chris Brown of Santa Barbara was among the surfers surviving heat competition Friday in the Body Glove Summer Pro in Ventura.
Defending tour champion Dino Andino of San Clemente also advanced into today’s heats, which begin at 8:30 a.m. The event concludes Sunday, with the finals set to begin at 12:25 p.m.
Phil Corsi and Bob Forbes, both of Ventura, survived heats in the bodyboarding competition.
Emilee Klein of Studio City shot a final-round 75 to finish second in the American Junior Golf Assn. junior tournament in Oklahoma City. Klein shot 223, six strokes behind Kellee Booth.
