Ventura County residents wanting to travel to the Philippines do not need to go to Los Angeles to obtain a visa.
The Philippine consul general in Los Angeles brings his office to Ventura from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the last Friday of every month. On Friday, Consul General Enrigue Santos and two officials from his office will be in the chief administrative officer’s conference room of the County Government Center’s Hall of Administration. Besides issuing visas, officials from the consulate will be able to renew Philippine passports and answer questions about traveling to the country.
Officials from the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles began coming to the county regularly about three years ago at the invitation of County Supervisor John K. Flynn, a spokesman for Flynn said. People wanting more information can call Flynn’s office at 654-2706.
