Connie Paraskevin-Young of Indianapolis finished third in the women’s match pursuit, failing to retain her title in the World Cycling Championships at Stuttgart, Germany. Ingrid Haringa, a Dutch policewoman, won the gold medal, and Anette Neumann of Germany took the silver.
