Sy Salkowitz; TV Executive Was Also a Writer

Sy Salkowitz, 65, former president of 20th Century Fox Television and a writer credited with more than 350 episodes of such television series as “Naked City,” “Perry Mason,” “Mission Impossible” and “The Virginian.” He served as president of Fox TV from 1976 to 1981, with responsibilities for such productions as “MASH” and “Paper Chase.” In 1974 he won the Edgar Allan Poe Award from the Mystery Writers of America. Most recently he had written a novel, “Rachel’s Game,” to be published in March. In Rancho Santa Fe on Aug. 22 of cancer.
