A 29-year-old Bonita woman was shot to death early Saturday, and a 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting, San Diego County sheriff’s deputies said.

Alison Lillian Nickle, 29, was found at 3:30 a.m. in bed at her house in the 3300 block of Watercrest Court in Bonita, deputies said. She had been shot in the head and chest and died at 4:40 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, deputies said.

Called by a man who said he had just shot a woman, deputies arrested 28-year-old John Dabany Garrett at the house. Garrett was being held without bail Saturday at County Jail downtown on suspicion of murder, deputies said.
