Bail was set at $500,000 for a man accused of fatally stabbing a nursery school teacher in her Southeast San Diego home.
Alonzo Cepeda Randall, 31, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Geraldine Cruz, 50, who was found dead on her kitchen floor on South Elizabeth Street. She was stabbed in the chest Sunday after calling 911 for help, officials said.
San Diego Municipal Judge Joan Weber set bail Wednesday, with a review of the figure to be held Monday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 31.
