Readers Decry Padres’ Reaction to Comments by Dodgers’ Lasorda
- Share via
After reading some of the comments made by the Padres about the Dodgers (Sept. 25, 26), it is obvious to me why the Dodgers are a contending team and the Padres are not.
Any team who gets so vindictive because of a remark made by the Dodger manager to one reporter obviously is not mature enough to pursue a division title.
What hypocrisy! The Padres are a team that has bad-mouthed the Dodgers, and especially their manager, all season long. But when the tables are turned, they get incensed. They must belong to the “I-can-dish-it-out-but-can’t-take-it” school.
As for Tommy Lasorda criticizing the Padre coach for not sending the runner home in the ninth inning against Atlanta, he probably has a point. It didn’t mean much to the Padres as far as the division race is concerned, but it cost the Dodgers a game in the standings. If the position were reversed, do you think the Padres would have been silent? I don’t think so!
So grow up Padres! Just because you play a child’s game, don’t behave like babies!
