Thank you for your editorial and the Column Right piece. I have been making these recommendations to Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley), both California senators and New York Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan for many months.
It is high time that those workers who toil in the private sector are accorded the same rights that have been given to civil servants at all levels of government, our elected leaders and the military. We and our employers have been paying into Social Security for up to 50 years. This is not an “entitlement” we are discussing; this is our money. While we are talking, there should not be a means test.
