In the boys’ Garden Grove tournament championship game:
Western 76, Fullerton 45--The Pioneers (3-0) held Fullerton (2-1) scoreless in the first quarter and without a field goal for the first half, then coasted. Western scored 29 of the game’s first 30 points and led, 37-6, at halftime.
Western forced nine Fullerton turnovers in the first quarter, holding the Indians to two shots. Fullerton finished the game with 29 turnovers.
Jason Etter led Western with 18 points, and Frank Floyd, the tournament most valuable player, had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Neil Hensley and Chris Jackson also made the all-tournament team for Western.
In the third-place game:
Laguna Hills 75, Magnolia 68--Jeff Brooks scored 19 points, and Aaron Cook had 18 for Laguna Hills (2-1).
